Kirby Smart provides latest update on Arik Gilbert’s status

Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs were excited to get LSU transfer Arik Gilbert this offseason.
However, due to personal issues, Gilbert has yet to suit up for the Dawgs and remains away from the team as we enter Week 8 of the 2021 season.
On Tuesday, coach Kirby Smart spoke with reporters and gave the latest update on Gilbert, saying he isn’t sure if the talented receiver will suit up for the Bulldogs at all this year:
Kirby Smart said that WR Arik Gilbert remains away from the team and isn't sure if he will be back this season. "Everyone is pulling for him."

Smart added that the team is pulling for Gilbert to get better and return to the field, if he’s able.
We’ll see how things progress the rest of this year and moving forward into 2022 and beyond.
