Kirby Smart and Georgia were in for a fight in the first half against visiting Missouri as the Bulldogs trailed early after a Luther Burden III touchdown.
Georgia gave up 174 yards of offense to Missouri, as the red and black bounced back with a touchdown early in the 2nd quarter from former Missouri wide receiver Dominic Lovett. In the tight game, Missouri was 3-for-7 on 3rd down, while Georgia was 4-for-9.
Perhaps the most surprising stat from the 1st half is that Tigers QB Brady Cook has rushed for 52 yards, while Georgia has 50 rushing yards as a team.
Smart told CBS Sports that Georgia has done well with discipline so far, but the Bulldogs must execute better.
“Especially up front, we’re not winning 1st and 10 offensively, and they’re on the field too long with our defense,” he said.
The halftime score is 10-10.
