Kirby Smart says he doesn’t ‘lose sleep’ over 1-7 record against Alabama

Kirby Smart has 2 national championship rings that he won as Georgia’s head coach from the 2021 and 2022 seasons, but his record against the Alabama Crimson Tide continues to be a thread to watch following the Tide’s 24-21 victory over the Bulldogs on Saturday night.
The loss dropped Smart to 1-7 against Alabama in his tenure in Athens – with the lone win coming in the 2022 CFP national championship game. In contrast, Smart is 107-13 as Georgia’s coach against teams besides Alabama.
“What’s everyone else’s record against ‘em, you got it? I don’t either,” Kirby Smart said after the game. “I don’t lose sleep over that, because those games have been like championship-caliber games, right? Even when we play in the regular season, I just saw like 25 (NFL) scouts out there to watch these teams play.
“That’s not going to affect me. I am going to be happy and just go-lucky if our team comes back and plays well. That’s what I worry about. We gotta get better, and next year will have nothing to do with this year.”
Smart’s overall record at Georgia is a stellar 108-20.
