Kirby Smart shares injury update on Mykel Williams, other key Georgia players
Kirby Smart shared some information about Georgia’s injury situation on Tuesday night.
Smart said that star defensive end Mykel Williams could play vs. Alabama this weekend, but whether or not he’s cleared to see the field is “going to be close.” Smart said Williams was back out on the practice field on Tuesday.
Smart is more optimistic about defensive lineman Warren Brinson having a chance to play vs. the Tide. He also said defensive lineman Jordan Hall is “pushing through” an injury in an attempt to practice this week.
Kirby Smart said DE Mykel Williams "going to be close," in terms of being able to play vs. Alabama. "It was his first day really getting out there and doing some things.” Smart feels "good" about DL Warren Brinson able to play. DL Jordan Hall "pushing through" to try to practice

Williams is a huge part of Georgia’s defensive line. He entered the year as a potential top NFL Draft pick in the 2025 draft, but has been limited by an injury to start the year. He registered 2 tackles for loss in UGA’s season-opener against Clemson but hasn’t played since.
Brinson and Hall have also missed Georgia’s last 2 contests against Tennessee Tech and Kentucky.
Georgia is roughly 24 hours away from releasing its updated availability report, so it will be interesting to see the designations for each of those 3 linemen. UGA will release new reports on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evening, per SEC rules. A final availability report will be issued 90 minutes before kickoff on Saturday.
Georgia is looking for its first win in Tuscaloosa since 2007 this weekend. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
