Kirby Smart was asked to evaluate what Kendall Milton has meant to the Georgia program Wednesday afternoon at the SEC’s weekly teleconference.

The Georgia running back leads the Bulldogs in rushing yards this season for a team that is pass-heavy on their attack.

Smart told reporters that Milton’s learning curve was different from other players because he had a brother who played college football. In other words, he more or less knew what he was getting into before he landed in Athens.

Here’s his full quote:

“Kendall was a very mature young man coming in. He was very intelligent, very mature. So it wasn’t the same progression I would say where a kid comes in that’s not accustomed to hard work. He had a brother that played college football. He just was more aware of what he was getting himself into. So the learning curve was not as steep as maybe some kids’ was. But he’s certainly become a better leader and very confident in his knowledge of pass pro pickups, his toughness, he’s battled some injuries since he’s been here.”

Milton has 36 rushes for 196 yards and 3 touchdowns this season through 6 games of action.
