After being carted off the field during last Saturday’s game against Vanderbilt, Georgia left guard Solomon Kindley appears to be doing about as well as he could be.
Kirby Smart said during his Monday press conference that the sophomore suffered a “mild” MCL sprain, a far less serious injury that it seemed at the time. Smart said Kindley could even practice today, and the Bulldogs are hopeful he’ll be ready to go against LSU on Saturday.
“I’m sure everybody is wanting to know about Solomon (Kindley), he has a mild MCL sprain. We think he’s going to be able to practice today,” Smart said on Monday. “So we’re hopeful that he gets to play, but I won’t really know until I see how he does today. He’s been able to run on the treadmill and do some exercise stuff, but was not as significant as we thought in the beginning. That’s really it.”
Getting Kindley back this week would be huge for a Georgia offensive line that’s already operating without right guard Ben Cleveland and has seen a few other members deal with minor injuries throughout the year. We’ll see if he’s able to play when the No. 2 Bulldogs (6-0, 4-0 SEC) visit No. 13 LSU (5-1, 2-1) at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
