Kirk Herbstreit has confirmed that ESPN’s College GameDay is coming to Rocky Top for Saturday’s top-10 rivalry showdown between Tennessee and Alabama.
College football fans, especially Vols, expressed concern when ESPN took down its social media posts announcing GameDay would be in Knoxville. Herbstreit said it’s “1000%” set that the traveling pregame show will be at UT. He also emphasized the entire crew will be on hand, suggesting that Lee Corso may make his return to the set after a 2-week absence.
Just wanted to let people know @CollegeGameDay is 1000% coming to Knoxville this weekend-we are fired up to come back to town-
our ENTIRE crew can’t wait to get there and give this game the love and hype it deserves-see ya in Knoxville this weekend! @Vol_Football @AlabamaFTBL— Kirk Herbstreit (@KirkHerbstreit) October 11, 2022
As far as the deleted social media posts, Herbstreit’s best guess is that there was a possible copyright issue with music used.
Not sure the details. Guessing a copyright issue with the music our social team used. But we’re coming and whatever was taken down wasn’t anything more than that. Sorry for any confusion. https://t.co/1KNEa9C0bl

Vols fans everywhere should appreciate Herbstreit clearing things up. It should be a great atmosphere in Knoxville to hopefully welcome Corso back to the show!
