Monday night’s National Championship Game turned into one fans will remember for quite a while, and ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit took time to congratulate Alabama on its win.

The popular analyst and GameDay host took to Twitter Tuesday morning and congratulated the Crimson Tide on adding another national title to their 10-year dynasty. The win gives Nick Saban his fifth national title at Alabama since 2009 and the Tide’s second national championship in three seasons.

What made this win just a bit different was the insertion of QB Tua Tagovailoa at halftime. Starting QB Jalen Hurts struggled to throw the ball in the first half, and it was evident that Georgia’s defense was intent on making the Tide throw in order to score. Herbstreit commented on Tagovailoa’s performance and called him a unique talent that will help lead the Tide to even bigger heights.

Herbstreit also congratulated Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs on a strong year for the program and left note that Georgia will be back on this stage under Smart. While the loss definitely will hurt Dawg fans for a long time, there is no denying that the program is on a different trajectory under Smart.
