Kirk Herbstreit has revealed his list of top-performing teams in Week 7.
A pair of SEC teams made the cut — LSU and Texas. Both the Tigers and Longhorns picked up significant top-25 wins over the weekend.
Oregon was named Herbstreit’s top-performing team of the week after it beat then-No. 2 Ohio State in dramatic fashion in Eugene. Penn State, Arizona State, Nevada and Iowa State were the other teams who made the cut for this week’s list.

LSU pulled off a 4th-quarter comeback against Ole Miss in Week 7 before winning in overtime. Garrett Nussmeier threw a pair of touchdown passes in crunch time, including the game-winner in OT to Kyren Lacy. This was LSU’s 5th consecutive win since it lost its season-opener to USC back in Week 1.
Texas moved to 6-0 on the season with a 34-3 drubbing of Oklahoma at the Red River Rivalry. Herbstreit was on the call for this game and got a first-hand look at UT’s dominant performance on both sides of the ball. Texas out-gained Oklahoma 406-237 in the win.
