Alabama’s quarterbacks didn’t have the best day in Saturday’s low-scoring spring game.
The competition to replace Jake Coker has been a hot topic this spring, and ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit chimed in with his opinion.
18, 8, 2, 12. That's my opinion. https://t.co/zXwEVuCgpQ

For those readers without their roster handy, that’s Cooper Bateman, Blake Barnett, Jalen Hurts and David Cornwell. Bateman is the favorite at this point to land the job, while the talented Barnett is playing catchup. Hurts probably turned the most heads this spring, and he has impressed the coaching staff after enrolling early. Cornwell isn’t completely out of the race yet, but Herbstreit’s right, he’s probably sitting No. 4 exiting spring practice.
Herbstreit added on ESPN that he thinks the battle will go on throughout the summer and into fall camp.
