Kirk Herbstreit loved what he saw from a handful of SEC coaches past and present on Saturday.
Brian Kelly headlines Herbstreit’s list of top coaching performances of Week 10, shared Monday on Twitter. Kelly’s first Alabama-LSU ended with his first win over Nick Saban, in thrilling fashion. In Kelly’s first season, LSU is now in the driver’s seat in the SEC West.
A trio of Georgia defensive gurus – Kirby Smart, Will Muschamp and Glenn Schumann – share the No. 2 spot on Herbstreit’s list. Tennessee had scored 34 points or more in each of its first 8 games before falling 27-13 to the Bulldogs Saturday in Athens.
Familiar faces Mike Elko and Hugh Freeze were also recognized by Herbstreit. Elko has Duke 6-3 after a 38-31 road win over Boston College. Freeze’s Liberty Flames went to Arkansas and defeated the Razorbacks 21-19 on Saturday.
