With Week 2 in the rearview mirror, that means Kirk Herbstreit has unveiled who he thinks his top-performing coaches were from the previous week of action.
We usually see an SEC coach or 2 on the list, and that was the case on Monday. Unsurprisingly, Arkansas defensive coordinator Barry Odom made the list after the Razorbacks claimed a 40-21 upset win over Texas in Fayetteville on Saturday. The Longhorns were held to 256 yards of total offense.
Also on the list was Vanderbilt head coach Clark Lea. The Commodores suffered a humbling loss to FCS ETSU in Lea’s debut on Sept. 4 but needed a last-second field goal from Joseph Bulovas to knock off Colorado State 24-21 in Fort Collins, Colo.
At the top of Herbstreit’s list for Week 2 was Oregon head coach Mario Cristobal and offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead. The Ducks topped Ohio State 35-28 in Columbus on Saturday.
