Kirk Herbstreit has unveiled his top-performing players from the Week 1 slate in college football.
Herbstreit named 7 players who caught his attention this week. Arizona wide receiver Tatairoa McMillan took the top spot after he went for 304 yards and 4 touchdowns in Arizona’s win over New Mexico over the weekend.
Miami’s Cam Ward and USC’s Miller Moss were 2 quarterbacks who made a big impact on their teams in Week 1. Ward led Miami to a big road win over Florida while Moss was excellent in USC’s upset victory over LSU in Las Vegas.

Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty was the lone group-of-5 player to make the cut this week. Jeanty rushed for 267 yards and 6 touchdowns in Boise’s win over Georgia Southern on Saturday.
Kyle McCord made his Syracuse debut and put up some big numbers in the Orange’s win over Ohio. He threw for 354 yards and 4 touchdowns against the Bobcats.
Colorado’s Travis Hunter played all but 2 snaps of Colorado’s Week 1 win over North Dakota State, excelling on both sides of the ball.
Other than Hunter, North Carolina’s Jahvaree Ritzie was the only defensive player to make the cut. He recorded 3 sacks in North Carolina’s narrow Week 1 victory over Minnesota.
