Kirk Herbstreit has new No. 1 following Auburn’s big Iron Bowl win over Alabama

Kirk Herbstreit was so impressed by Auburn’s 26-14 over Alabama in the Iron Bowl, that he vaulted the Tigers to No. 1 in his latest rankings.
The ESPN college football analyst, like many who watched Auburn the last three weeks, coupled the win over Georgia, who was ranked No. 1 two weeks ago in his latest assessment.
Strength of schedule has become a main talking point this season in terms of the College Football Playoff, and a resume like Auburn has put together recently has led many, like Herbstreit, to elevate the Tigers into the top four.
Auburn was ranked sixth in the most recent CFP committee rankings. But with Alabama and Miami losing this week, there expects to be a shakeup in the top four.
One-loss teams Oklahoma, Clemson and undefeated Wisconsin are all due to move up.
