ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit normally makes his College Football Playoff projection in the wee hours of Sunday morning.
Today, hours before the committee reveals this year’s bracket, he gave his picks during Sunday NFL Countdown.

Herbstreit is going against the grain a bit by placing Oklahoma at No. 3 and Michigan State at No. 4. Many believe the Tide would like to avoid the Sooners until a potential national championship matchup, and the Spartans arguably played a tougher schedule than the Sooners.
