Kirk Herbstreit thought a hand full and then some of teams deserved some praise after Week 9.
No SEC teams made his list, but Georgia Tech was featured after former Texas A&M quarterback Haynes King led the Yellow Jackets to an upset of North Carolina. King had 287 yards passing with 4 touchdowns.
The biggest upset of the week was Kansas over Oklahoma. The Jayhawks had not beaten the Sooners since 1997. Goalposts were torn down and tossed in a nearby body of water as is custom.
Here’s how Herbie ranked his list:
- No. 1: Oregon
- No. 2: Kansas
- No. 3: Georgia Tech
- No. 4: Arizona
- No. 5: N.C. State
- No. 6: Louisville
- No. 7: Arizona State

The trend of the week was Pac-12 teams apparently. Oregon crushed Utah on the road 38-6. Arizona upset ranked Oregon State and Arizona State beat Washington State in Tempe.
N.C. State handed Clemson its fourth loss of the season in Raleigh. Louisville held Duke scoreless in a ranked vs. ranked affair.
There were some exciting games to choose from.
