Kirk Herbstreit picks the teams, players, and coaches who impressed him the most after each week of college football action. With Week 9 behind us, the analyst has identified 7 teams that were the most impressive from the week.

Herbstreit picked 2 SEC teams, 1 ACC team, 1 B1G team, 1 Pac-12 team,  1 C-USA team, and 1 AAC team for this week’s list.

At No. 1, Herbstreit went with Texas A&M. The Aggies picked up a huge 38-23 win over rival LSU. With that win, the Aggies improved to 7-1 overall and 5-0 in SEC play.

The Aggies’ backup QB Marcel Reed took over against the Tigers. Reed came on in relief of Conner Weigman and rushed for 3 scores.

At Nos. 2 and 3, Herbstreit showed some love to Group of 5 teams. Tulsa was down 35-7 to UTSA and somehow came back to win 46-45. Kennesaw State, meanwhile, pulled off one of college football’s most surprising upsets of the season as they took down previously undefeated Liberty. Tulsa outscored UTSA 39-10 in the 2nd half. Kennesaw State entered the game as a 27.5-point underdog and won outright 27-24.

At No. 4, Herbstreit went with Indiana. The Hoosiers’ improbable run continued as the team stayed perfect against Washington. Alabama earned the No. 5 spot after blanking Missouri and getting another SEC win.

Pittsburgh gets the No. 6 slot after easily getting past Syracuse and remaining undefeated. Herbstreit’s final spot went to Washington State, who beat San Diego State to improve to 7-1 on the season.
