ESPN’s College GameDay was in Seattle on Saturday morning for a matchup between No. 4 Washington and No. 20 USC.
But, during the show, there was still plenty of SEC talk.
Analyst Kirk Herbstreit discussed avoiding an Alabama letdown, LSU coach Ed Orgeron, Auburn’s chances of getting to the College Football Playoff and more.
Here’s what Herbie had to say on Saturday morning’s show:
On Alabama avoiding a letdown against Mississippi State:
- “It’s natural that players look ahead to bigger matchups. That’s why the Nick Sabans of the world work hardest in weeks like this.”
On Auburn’s College Football Playoff hopes:
- “Auburn’s going if they beat Alabama.”
On Tennessee chances at an SEC East title:
- “I think Florida is a stumble away and Tennessee can still get to Atlanta.”
On LSU coach Ed Orgeron’s coaching style:
- “He’s a players’ coach, which is great. Can he sustain that? Can he sustain that for five years, seven years, or longer? He’s obviously a clear fit — the players love him, the fans love him.”
On Arkansas’s chances to upset LSU Saturday night:
- “I think Arkansas’s defense doesn’t have to worry about the passing game and can load up against the run.”
