Kirk Herbstreit did not shy from calling out Ed Orgeron’s LSU squad on Saturday.

While discussing Saturday’s LSU-Mississippi State game on ESPN’s “College GameDay,” Herbstreit questioned the Tigers’ heart before picking the Bulldogs to win.

“LSU has the better talent, but do they care about playing football anymore?” Herbstreit said during “GameDay.”

LSU’s 2021 season got off to a rough start with Ed Orgeron’s falling at UCLA in Week 1. The Tigers are above .500 for the first time since 2019 after wins over McNeese and Central Michigan. Clearly, those victories have not impressed Herbstreit.

LSU is certainly playing like it “cares” to start Saturday’s SEC opener. The Tigers recovered a fumble on MSU’s opening drive and then marched down the short field and scored, taking a 7-0 lead in Starkville.
