Kool-Aid McKinstry made sure to show up to SEC Media Days in style on Wednesday. The Alabama DB was wearing an amazing chain that personified his nickname.

The chain featured the “kool-aid man” and grabbed the attention of reporters at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

It didn’t take long for reporters to start asking about the specialized chain and what it means to McKinstry.

He stated that he loves being himself regardless of where he is, whether that’s on the field at Alabama or during SEC Media Days.

“Well, a lot of people that know me know this is kind of me,” said McKinstry. “I love being me no matter where I’m at, so it’s just a part of me.”

McKinstry’s real name is Ga’Quincy, but has been going as Kool-Aid for quite some time now.

He appeared in 13 games for the Crimson Tide last season and recorded 35 total tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 1 sack, and 1 interception.

McKinstry will be looking to have an even bigger impact in 2023. Last season, Alabama finished the year at 11-2 with a win over Kansas State in the Sugar Bowl.

Alabama opens this season against MTSU on Sept. 2. Fans can see what McKinstry will be rocking at 7:30 p.m. ET on SEC Network.
