Lane Kiffin back to Tennessee? ESPN’s Chris Low says Kiffin is ‘worth kicking the tires for’

After Phillip Fulmer retired as Tennessee’s head coach following the 2008 season, the Vols turned to a young coach named Lane Kiffin to replace him.
He went 7-6 in 2009 before leaving after the season to take the open USC head coaching job. That led to his name being a very unpopular one on Rocky Top ever since.
But, would he consider a return to Tennessee now that Jeremy Pruitt has been fired for cause? ESPN insider Chris Low appeared on 3HL on 104.5 The Zone in Nashville on Monday evening and said it’s at least worth a phone call to see if Kiffin would be interested:
"If I'm the #Vols, you certainly call and see if our buddy Lane Kiffin is interested… I bet he'd listen… I'm NOT saying Lane Kiffin is saying he's interested… but knowing him.. I bet he would listen."

.@ClowESPN on Kiffin and the #Vols…
"From a Tennessee stand point… why do you not call and make that pitch? I think you'd be foolish not to… he's certainly with kicking the tires for"

Again, as Low says, he is definitely not saying that Kiffin would be interested in leaving Ole Miss for a return to Tennessee. He’s simply saying Tennessee has to make the call.
Will Kiffin’s name enter the mix on Rocky Top? Anything is possible in these crazy times!
