Lane Kiffin denied a bombshell report that he is facing an ultimatum from Ole Miss to decide on his coaching future.

Kiffin appeared Tuesday on The Pat McAfee Show, a day after The Athletic reported that Ole Miss gave Kiffin a deadline before the Egg Bowl game against Mississippi State on Nov. 28 to make a decision on his future with the program.

“That’s absolutely not true. There’s been no ultimatum, anything like that at all. I don’t know where that came from,” Lane Kiffin said when McAfee asked about the reported ultimatum.

The reported “ultimatum” came amid rampant speculation and rumors surrounding Kiffin’s coaching future. Kiffin is reported to be the top target for both Florida and LSU. Kiffin’s family members reportedly took trips to Gainesville and Baton Rouge on Sunday and Monday.

Both Billy Napier and Brian Kelly were fired in October. Kiffin has been linked to the Gators and Tigers throughout those coaching searches. The Ole Miss coach has repeatedly deflected on questions about his future at Ole Miss, where he has posted a record of 54-19 in 6 seasons with the program.

Kiffin’s 2025 success potentially complicates a move to Florida or LSU. The Rebels are 10-1 entering Week 13 and expected to make the College Football Playoff. The Rebels were No. 7 in last week’s CFP selection committee rankings before a 34-24 win over Florida. The committee will unveil its new Top 25 at 8:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
