Lane Kiffin doesn’t want LSU, or college football fans in general, to get it twisted: He’s all in on improving the fortunes of the Tigers program.

“Don’t mistake because you see me doing things around the community, or a parade, or Mardi Gras, or a concert that there isn’t relentless pursuit of greatness here and effort in the way that we work and the amount of time spent in this office,” Kiffin said on the first day of spring practice on Tuesday, according to LSU beat writer Jerit Roser.

With Brian Kelly’s firing and Lane Kiffin‘s subsequent arrival from Ole Miss came a wave of departures from the Tigers’ football program, 38 in all. Kiffin, who works the transfer portal better than anyone in the sport, brought in 40 new players, many of them on offense.

Naturally, getting so many players from various programs (and cultures) is going to be a process, Kiffin noted, making that “pursuit of greatness” more important.

“In my opinion, that’s the only way to do it. And it’s especially the only way to do it nowadays because you have to do so much so fast with so many new pieces,” he said.

According to 247Sports, the LSU transfer class ranked No. 1 in the country. Can it help Kiffin and the Tigers make the College Football Playoff in 2026? Here’s the latest Kalshi market.
