Lane Kiffin’s Ole Miss Rebels were trounced by the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday night, falling 52-17.

The Rebels fell to 8-2 following the loss, and Kiffin was asked after the game what needs to happen for the Rebels to win games like this.

“We have to recruit at a higher level. We have to coach better,” the coach explained.

Kiffin’s troubles against ranked teams are well-documented. The team’s 2 losses this season are against Georgia and Alabama. Tulane and LSU are currently ranked, which could help Kiffin’s resume, but the struggles are real nonetheless.

Since arriving in Oxford in 2020, Kiffin has had a top 25 recruiting class twice. Alabama, Georgia, Texas A&M, and LSU are almost always in the top 5, so Kiffin has a point about needing to recruit better. It became apparent against the Bulldogs that the Rebels just don’t have the same caliber athletes.

Kiffin’s next 2 games are extremely winnable. The team will finish the 2023 season against UL Monroe and Mississippi State.
