Lane Kiffin had a plan to keep Ole Miss fans in the stadium during Austin Peay blowout
Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin never fails to entertain, and now it seems he’s doing is part to help out with attendance figures and concession sales at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
The Rebels rolled to a 54-17 win over Austin Peay on Saturday night, with the only real drama coming in the fourth quarter when John Rhys Plumlee took over at quarterback.
Plumleee, a former quarterback whose primary position is now wide receiver, hadn’t gotten any reps at QB all week in practice, but he completed his lone pass for 6 yards and added 64 yards on 4 carries.
When asked about the decision after the game, Kiffin delivered like only he can, saying, “”I figured fans would stay longer if Plumlee has the ball.”

No. 20 Ole Miss is now 2-0 the season and will return to action next Saturday against much-improved Tulane.
