Those who watched season three of the popular Netflix series Last Chance U got to know a new team and new coaching staff at Independence Community College in Kansas.

One of the stars of the new staff was assistant coach Frank Diaz. The show frequently chronicled Diaz working with QB Malik Henry. The former Florida State Seminole signal-caller is undoubtedly ultra-talented, but depicted as not the easiest player to coach, resulting in lots of screen time for Diaz.

Unfortunately, Diaz was not retained on ICC’s staff for the 2018 season. He was most recently bagging groceries at Trader Joe’s until he received a call from Lane Kiffin. Impressed by what he saw on Last Chance U, Kiffin decided to offer Diaz a staff position as an assistant to offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr.

Diaz shared the news with TMZ, where you can see videos of him talking about his new FAU gig as well as his past jobs.
