Lane Kiffin hits cross-sport celebration with Deuce Alexander after Ole Miss’ win
The Ole Miss Rebels throttled the Tulane Green Wave 45-10 on Saturday. It was a great outing for Lane Kiffin and Co., who savored their victory with a fun moment postgame.
The Rebels brought a basketball hoop out to midfield after the win. Once there, they gave wide receiver Deuce Alexander a basketball and cleared the runway for him to dunk. Before he could take off toward the goal, Kiffin intervened. He didn’t stop his wideout from dunking, though. Instead, he bounced a perfect alley-oop lob off the turf. Alexander caught the ball in stride and finished with a 360-degree slam.
Alexander, a sophomore from Douglassville, GA, led Ole Miss with 4 receptions for 94 yards and a touchdown on Saturday. The Rebels posted 548 total yards on the Green Wave, who mustered only 282 yards of their own. Tulane quarterbacks Jake Retzlaff and Brendan Sullivan combined to complete 10 of 29 passes (34.5%) for just 104 yards in the loss.
Ole Miss (4-0) now has momentum heading into a showdown with LSU in Week 5. The Tigers will be bringing some good vibes to Oxford, too, after finally getting their offense going against Southeastern Louisiana. Kickoff for the big SEC matchup is set for 3:30 p.m. E.T. on Sept. 27 (ABC).
