Lane Kiffin didn’t move particularly fast when deciding between Ole Miss and LSU, but once he made his decision on Sunday to head to Baton Rouge, Kiffin got busy quickly.

After departing Oxford for Baton Rouge, Lane Kiffin met with LSU prize recruit Lamar Brown, who is sure to be a cornerstone of the Tigers’ program in the very near future.

The 6-foot-4, 285-pound Brown is a 5-star stud with an “athlete” recruiting designation. According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Brown is the 2nd-ranked player in the entire Class of 2026. He’s a Baton Rouge kid, too.

LSU’s new head coach and soon-to-be freshman player were suddenly joined in this snapshot on Sunday night:

Brown is the top-ranked athlete in the Class of 2026 and also the top-rated player from the state of Louisiana, according to those 247Sports Composite rankings.

He’s been committed to LSU since July 10 of this year, and now that Kiffin is in charge in Baton Rouge, he’ll be playing for a different head coach than he thought when he committed to the program down the road back in the summer.
