Florida Atlantic may be on a bye week, but Lane Kiffin never leaves the news cycle.
On Monday, The Palm Beach Post published a story about what fans can takeaway from the Owls first five games of the season. Florida Atlantic is on a bye this weekend and then will face Middle Tennessee State on Oct. 12.
But taking a page out of his old boss’ book, Kiffin posted the link to the story on his Twitter with the caption “poison,” along with a rat emoji.

Alabama coach Nick Saban made the phase “rat poison” famous in college football, using it to refer to all the good press the Crimson Tide were receiving early during the 2017 season. Kiffin was no longer on Saban’s staff at Alabama during that time, but clearly, Kiffin still follows his old coach.
Even if he didn’t, one would have to be living under a rock to not hear about the “rat poison” press conference.
The Palm Beach Post article breaking down FAU’s first five games probably isn’t quite as complimentary as some of the Alabama’s press from two years ago, but props to Kiffin for paying homage to one of Saban’s most memorable quotes.
