Lane Kiffin immediately reacted to Ole Miss’ win over Georgia Tech, as the Rebels scored 38 points in the second half.

“It wasn’t perfect by any means, but I am happy that we did run the ball better,” Kiffin told Cole Cubelic of SEC Network. “Hit some explosive plays there late in the passing game and got some stops. Ended up with a whatever 3-score game, and it was tight at half. That’s 3 weeks in a row played really good second-half football.”

It was Kiffin’s 12th win over a nonconference opponent as Ole Miss’ coach.

Asked about Jaxson Dart’s rushing contributions to the offense, as the quarterback had 14 carries for 136 yards and 2 touchdowns, Kiffin said it’s not part of the usual plan.

“It’s not ideal, but we’ve got to do whatever we’ve got to do to win,” Kiffin said. “So when people are closing and taking away the runs, he pulls the ball. So it is what it is.”

Kiffin added that he didn’t like the final score for Ole Miss because the Rebels had their backups in, and he has a lot of respect for Georgia Tech coach Brent Key.

Kiffin was then asked about playing Alabama next week.

“I’ve got to go figure out how we get better and we go into Tuscaloosa,” Kiffin said.
