Ole Miss enters its 2022 campaign ranked 21st in the AP poll but as of Monday who will replace Matt Corral at quarterback remain up in the air.

During his weekly media availability, Rebels coach Lane Kiffin said the competition between sophomores Luke Altmyer and Jaxson Dart, a transfer from USC, is ongoing.

“We still have not made a QB decision,” Kiffin said. “I thought they both played (okay Saturday) … I do not know when I’ll have that answer. We haven’t even discussed the timeline as coaches because it has not emerged as all.”

The 6-1, 200-pound Altmyer appeared in 4 games for the Rebels as a backup a year ago and passed for 192 yards, a touchdown, and 2 interceptions.

Dart (6-2, 220), meanwhile, played in 6 games for the Trojans in 2021 and passed for 1,353 yards, 9 TDs, and 5 interceptions.

The Rebels season opener at home against Troy will kick off at 4 p.m. (ET) on Saturday and be televised by the SEC Network.
