Lane Kiffin could only smile when asked about Alabama’s defensive play-caller. Of course, it was a storyline Kiffin himself raised himself on Sunday.
“I don’t know, they did a good job,” Kiffin said. “So I commend them. Maybe coach took over. They did a really good job on 3rd down. They went exotic, played man-to-man. Did a good job against us. Thought Malachi (Moore) played really well.”
Kiffin also said he felt that it was Ole Miss’ best chance against Alabama, but “It’s discouraging to all of us.”
The post-game comments came after Kiffin on SEC Network Saturday morning said, “We’re excited for this opportunity today and you never know how many more you’ve got. Maybe this is our last time.”
Lane Kiffin and his @OleMissFB QB Jaxson Dart both said Saturday that they felt like this was their best chance to get Alabama, but didn’t get it done. “It’s discouraging to all of us,” Kiffin said.

Our own @EmmyG_Sports asking @OleMissFB coach @Lane_Kiffin if today provided clarity who is calling the defense for @AlabamaFTBL. #RollTide #HottyToddy pic.twitter.com/8dYitpBCY7
