Lane Kiffin talks sideline enthusiasm, says LSU is the ‘most talented opponent’ Ole Miss will have faced
Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss are 7-0 on the season and ranked 7th in the country in this week’s AP poll.
Moving to 8-0 on Saturday will be a challenge, however, as the Rebels head to LSU to take on the Tigers at Death Valley.
Kiffin said Wednesday during the weekly SEC coaches teleconference that he has been impressed with what his team has accomplished. He also knows that Saturday’s game will be a significant test.
“They’ve done a great job,” said Kiffin of his players and staff. “To be 7-0 with 3 new coordinators, all these transfers, it’s been an exciting situation.”
And of the Tigers, Kiffin added, “This is the most talented opponent, by far, that we’ve played.”
Kiffin was also asked Wednesday about his enthusiasm on the sidelines and if it’s ever included throwing a play sheet.
“I did it once,” Kiffin admitted. “It wasn’t on TV, which I was kinda glad. … Sometimes you’re really excited when a scheme works and players make plays. We put a lot into these work weeks and these players.”
The matchup between the Rebels and Tigers will be televised by CBS on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. (ET). LSU is currently a 1.5-point favorite.
