Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels are off to a hot start against No. 9 Georgia. The Rebels lead 28-26 after an easy score to start the 2nd half, and Kiffin even found some time to get a little trolling in.

But just before the halftime break, Kiffin found an official so he could call a timeout. He then walked over to the official, still doing the timeout gesture, and said “I was just clapping.”

This is a callback to Kirby Smart and his timeout incident from last week, where he appeared to make a timeout motion, but was able to get the timeout rescinded after insisting to an official he was clapping. Here’s Kiffin’s best impersonation:

A lot of questionable calls were made in that Auburn-Georgia game, one that eventually ended with a Georgia win thanks to a dominant second half effort.

The Bulldogs are going to need another strong second half effort to win this one, too. It’s been a back-and-forth affair to this point, and both offenses are firing on all cylinders.

Trinidad Chambliss is having an excellent game after struggling some last week against Washington State. So far, he’s totaled 253 passing yards with 1 passing touchdown and 1 rushing touchdown. Kewan Lacy has also found the end zone a pair of times.

Let’s see if the Rebels can finish this one out.
