Tre Harris is one of the best wide receivers in the country. His connection with QB Jaxson Dart is part of what makes the Ole Miss offense dangerous.
Harris missed some time last season for the Rebels, and he unfortunately suffered another injury during Saturday’s 27-3 win over South Carolina.
Kiffin told reporters yesterday that Harris was never close to returning for the remainder of Saturday’s game against the Gamecocks, and he echoed that sentiment on Monday. Ole Miss’s head coach also added that if the game were played today he “certainly wouldn’t be playing.”
Lane Kiffin was asked about Tre Harris’ status: Said he wasn’t particularly close to coming back in at South Carolina and “he certainly wouldn’t be playing today.”

Harris is the country’s leader in total receiving yards and receiving yards per game. His 885 yards on the season eclipses 2nd place by 178 yards. His mere presence on the field makes life easier for fellow targets Juice Wells, Cayden Lee and Jordan Watkins.
If Harris misses Saturday – and Monday’s comments surely aren’t encouraging – the Rebels’ tough challenge at LSU becomes that much tougher. The Tigers and Rebels both have a loss on the season, and the loser of this game is going to have a really tough time making the College Football Playoff at the end of the season.
Week 7’s top 25 battle kicks off at 7:30 p.m. on ABC.
