Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa had surgery on his ankle after getting injured vs. Tennessee last weekend. Now, he’ll miss this weekend’s matchup with Arkansas.

Therefore, Mac Jones will get the start against the Razorbacks, and many around the country are wondering what to expect.

During an appearance on “The Paul Finebaum Show” this week, former Alabama OC (and current FAU head coach) Lane Kiffin compared Jones to Georgia QB Jake Fromm (via 247Sports):

“It’s crazy we all have insight on all of these quarterbacks who haven’t been there and I kind of compared him to (Georgia junior) Jake Fromm,” said Kiffin. “I said, ‘OK, here’s a game manager in a good way.’ (Jones) really understands the game, knows where to get the ball. Very smart kid. Comes from great family and really loves the position and learning the position.”

Fromm, obviously, has a lot of big-game experience that Jones doesn’t have, but it is still an interesting comparison.

How will Jones fare on Saturday against the Hogs? Tune in to ESPN at 7 p.m. Eastern time to find out.
