South Carolina fans held their breath when LaNorris Sellers took a brutal hit to the head and gingerly walked off the field against Vanderbilt on Saturday night, and the ensuing loss drove the dagger deeper into their chests.

The 31-7 defeat was compounded by the question marks surrounding Sellers’ future status, but the Gamecock faithful did get at least some form of good news when the SEC unveiled its injury reports on Wednesday night.

Despite initial speculation that Sellers could be out for an extended period of time, he has been listed as questionable for this Saturday’s matchup with Missouri, leaving the door open for him to suit up in a crucial game. This follows reports that say there’s optimism Sellers could be good to go for Saturday’s game by Pete Thamel.

A preseason Heisman hopeful, Sellers’ start to the 2025 campaign has been rocky at best. An explosive 64-yard touchdown pass to Nyck Harbor inflated his stats in the opening win over Virginia Tech, and the passing attack found even less success the ensuing week against SC State when Sellers completed just 11-of-19 passes for 128 yards.

Sophomore receiver Mazeo Bennet joins Sellers under the ‘questionable’ label, while sophomore tight end Michael Smith and junior defensive back Judge Collier are listed as doubtful.

Meanwhile, the Tigers’ injury report features three players that have been expected to miss most or all of the season.

With their starting quarterback’s status still up in the air, the Gamecocks now risk falling to 0-2 in SEC play if they can’t pull off an upset over Mizzou. The Tigers have largely cruised through their opening slate, winning three games by a margin of 155-47, and blackout conditions are expected under the 7 p.m. EST lights in Columbia.
