Laura Rutledge thinks Saturday’s game with Tennessee could have a huge impact on Texas A&M’s season.

The Aggies travel to Neyland Stadium to take on No. 19 Tennessee in Week 7. Rutledge explained Thursday on TexAgs’ show “Up to the SECond” that this game could determine what kind of season Texas A&M will have.

The Aggies are coming off a heartbreaking 26-20 loss to Alabama in their last game. She still believes Texas A&M has what it takes to be a contender in the SEC West.

“This is the game now where, with what’s happened, maybe even more for A&M, where you sort of figure out what the rest of the season is going to be,” Rutledge said. “I still think the SEC West is going to be this cannibalistic kind of situation and you never know what can happen. A&M’s chances of making the postseason and going to the Playoff, those may be diminished.

“I still think that they can contend and finish the season strong. They are still such a talented team, you saw that on display.”

After a tough loss to Alabama, the game against Tennessee could be a chance for the Aggies to turn things around if all goes according to plan.

The last time Texas A&M played Tennessee was in 2020 and the Aggies won that game handily.

Kickoff from Knoxville will be at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
