Laura Rutledge signs contract extension with ESPN

Laura Rutledge has signed a new multi-year contract extension with ESPN, the World Wide Leader announced on Wednesday morning.

Rutledge, who has served as the host of SEC Nation on Saturday mornings during football season since 2016, is expected to continue in that role for the network. Rutledge is also the host of NFL Live and has other high-profile roles at the network as well.

“ESPN has provided me the support and freedom to build my dream career since I arrived eager to learn and grow,” Rutledge said in a statement. “I appreciate its continued faith in me and hope they recognize the gratitude and pride I have working for the company.  On a personal level, so many colleagues have become mentors and dear friends during my 10 years and I have relationships with them that will always be special, including my NFL Live team who I consider family.”

Rutledge has held a prominent role at ESPN since 2014. In addition to her studio work, Rutledge is expected to continue to in her role as a college sideline reporter for College Football Playoff and SEC on ABC assignments, the network says.

“Laura is a consummate professional and wonderful teammate,” ESPN president of content Burke Magnus said in a statement. “Her versatility allows us to utilize her in multiple roles, across numerous sports, throughout the year. We are fortunate to have her.”
