SEC Network host and ESPN college football sideline reporter Laura Rutledge has delivered another edition of “Reese’s Football Picks, featuring baby Jack” – where her children predict a key SEC football game every week.
This week’s pick involves No. 8 Ole Miss at No. 13 Oklahoma (noon ET, ABC). Reese, Rutledge’s daughter, delivered much fanfare in choosing Lane Kiffin’s Ole Miss team by way of picking up the Ole Miss helmet on the table she was standing on. Jack, meanwhile, uttered an adorable “Go Sooners” while trying to handle the Oklahoma helmet.
Ole Miss (6-1 overall, 3-1 SEC) is looking to rebound for a 43-35 loss to Georgia last week. Oklahoma (6-1, 2-1) took down South Carolina 26-7 last week. The matchup features a pair of high-profile quarterbacks in Ole Miss’ Trinidad Chambliss (1,549 passing yards, 8 touchdowns) against Oklahoma’s John Mateer (1,567 passing yards, 7 touchdowns).
The Rebels and Sooners have only played twice prior to Saturday’s matchup in Norman – both won by Ole Miss. The first meeting was in the 1999 Independence Bowl, with Ole Miss prevailing 27-25 in Shreveport, La. The most recent was in 2024 – Oklahoma’s first season as an SEC member – with Ole Miss winning 26-14 in Oxford.
