Laura Rutledge was back with the regular pick segment featuring her daughter, Reese, and a special cameo from her son, Jack. This time, it was the Sugar Bowl matchup between Georgia and Notre Dame to be featured.
Reese opened the segment by noting that she’s been missing everyone to open the postseason while also wishing a happy New Year to fans. Then, she highlighted Georgia’s quarterback situation with a reference to Gunner Stockton but also expects Marcus Freeman and Notre Dame to deliver a stiff test.
“Did you guys see Gunner Stockton? He was great, but those Fighting Irish are good, though. This is going to be a great game!” exclaimed Reese.
In the end, Reese ultimately went with the Bulldogs (after her brother wrecked the set, that is), complete with a few barks for good measure. Here’s how it all went down:
It has been a wild week in New Orleans leading up to the Sugar Bowl with the New Year’s Day terror attack wreaking havoc on the city. Laura Rutledge has been on-site reporting on all the events, and the game is finally cleared for a 4 pm ET kickoff on Thursday.
We’ll see if Reese’s prediction holds up with the Bulldogs playing without Carson Beck for the remainder of the season.
