Missouri staffer leaving the program for coaching position at Southern University
L’Damian Washington’s time at Mizzou has come to an end, at least, for now.
The former standout Tiger receiver has been on staff in Columbia in recent seasons serving as the Director of Player Development for Eli Drinkwitz’s program but he just announced he has accepted a full-time position at Southern University.
Washington will take over the receivers coaching position at Southern.
During his time on the field in Columbia, Washington caught 100 passes for 1,735 yards and 15 touchdowns. Washington also served as a captain on the team that won the 2013 SEC East Championship under Gary Pinkel.
He announced his new position with the following tweet:
I hope Mizzou Nation never forgets me!! But.. I’M COMING HOME!! #LockDownLouisiana I’m bringing the whole 318 to Baton Rouge! Let’s work!! Thank you @CoachDrinkwitz because none of this is possible without you believing in me first! ?? @GeauxJags pic.twitter.com/Z9u5Rmuau4
