Legendary former College GameDay host Lee Corso may have retired from the announcers’ table on Saturday mornings, but that doesn’t mean he’s retired from watching the sport entirely.

Corso is still a massive fan of college football, and according to Jim Henry of the Tallahassee Democrat, the legendary icon plans to attend the highly anticipated matchup between the No. 2 Miami Hurricanes and his alma mater, the No. 8 Florida State Seminoles, during their Week 6 clash.

Corso actually got his start in college football as a player for the Noles back in the mid-1950s, where he was a two-way star for Florida State, playing both cornerback and quarterback.

Following a legendary career as a player at the collegiate ranks, Corso then began his coaching career with the Noles in 1958, serving as a graduate assistant under his former head coach, Ted Nugent.

This stint as both a player and coach at Florida State would be the catalyst for one of the most incredible careers anybody associated with the sport of College Football has ever had, and now Corso is going back to the place where it all started for him over 70 years ago.

Miami is ahead 36-32 in the rivalry series with FSU. The Hurricanes won last year’s game 36-14 in Miami Gardens, but FSU won the last meeting in Tallahassee, 27-20.
