Lee Corso is going bold on Championship Weekend.

Ahead of Saturday’s College GameDay from the SEC FanFare in Atlanta, Kirk Herbstreit asked Corso for one surprise in Saturday’s game. Corso went for what would be undoubtedly the biggest surprise of the day.

“Iowa beats Michigan,” Corso told Herbstreit.

Herbstreit asked for clarification, and Corso brought up the spread, leading Herbstreit to suggest Corso was predicting a cover for the Hawkeyes, which would be significant.

“No, I said Iowa’s going to beat them. You wanted a surprise,” Corso said, starting to chuckle.

“It’s possible,” Corso added after Herbstreit remarked that it would be a major surprise.

As Corso said, Iowa is a 22-point underdog in the Big Ten Championship Game against No. 2 Michigan. The No. 16 Hawkeyes have one of the worst offenses in college football. During the 2023 season, the program announced that offensive coordinator Brian Ferentz will not return for the 2024 campaign.

If Iowa pulls off the upset as Corso suggests, another spot will open up in the College Football Playoff race, potentially for a 1-loss conference champion. The B1G title game is set for 8 p.m. ET, airing on FOX.
