College football over the past 25 years has been defined by some of the most legendary coaches ever to roam a sideline, and former longtime Oklahoma Sooners head man Bob Stoops ranks among the best of the best.
Stoops was the head coach of the Sooners from 1999-2016, where he racked up 10 Big 12 championships, 191 total wins, and led them to their only National Championship in the last 40 years back in 2000 when they knocked off the Florida State Seminoles.
Over his long tenure at the helm of the Sooners, Stoops also made his mark in the iconic Rose Bowl, leading Oklahoma to their first and only victory at the legendary venue back in 2003 with a 31-14 win over the Washington State Cougars.
There’s no denying the legacy Stoops has left behind, and now he’ll be adding yet another feather in his cap, as the Sooners just announced on their official X account that the former head ball coach is set to be inducted into the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame.
With this latest honor, Stoops will join several other legendary head ball coaches in the annals of Rose Bowl history, including his longtime rival, former Texas Longhorns head coach Mack Brown.
Stoops was a larger-than-life figure as the leader of the Sooners, and now his legacy continues to grow with this latest honor.
