When the SEC prepares for its 25th Championship Game on Saturday, Dec. 3, fans will get a blast from the past, as the coaches who squared off in the first conference championship game meet for the opening coin flip.
Former Alabama coach Gene Stallings and the Head Ball Coach, former Florida and South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier, will be joined by Roy Kramer, the sixth SEC commissioner:

Stallings’ Alabama squad won that matchup in 1992 by the score of 28-21. Stallings’ crew went on to win the national championship that season.
Spurrier, meanwhile, had to wait until 1996 to win a title with the Gators.
Kramer, who oversaw the expansion of the SEC, served as commissioner from 1990-2002 before Mike Slive took over.
