What a turnaround for Texas A&M’s Leon O’Neal.

One play after the senior safety had a targeting penalty overturned, which would have had him thrown out of the game, he returned a Dustin Crum interception 85 yards in the third quarter to push the Aggies lead against Kent State to 20-3.

The pick-6 was the second interception by O’Neal on the night, as he also victimized Crum in the first half.

The play was much-needed by Texas A&M, which entered the game ranked 6th in the country. The Aggies had played mistake-prone football for much of the first 2 1/2 quarters, and Kent State was driving with designs on getting to within 3 points.

O’Neal, however, had other ideas.
