Leonard Fournette the consensus top RB prospect according to NFL’s Charley Casserly

Former LSU running back Leonard Fournette isn’t just good at running away from defenders, he’s proven to be excellent at running past his fellow competitors leading up to the 2017 NFL Draft.
That’s according to NFL Media’s Charley Casserly. The former general manager of both the Washington Redskins and Houston Texans polled 20 of the league’s 32 teams and the consensus sides with Fournette as the draft’s top running back prospect, over former Florida State back Dalvin Cook.
“I polled 20 teams in the league, it was 13 for Fournette, seven for Cook,” Casserly said on NFL Network. “Coming out of college, and I loved Adrian Peterson. Everybody else loved him, too. Fournette does a couple things better. He keeps his pads lower, and he’s a little bit more instinctive.”
For what’s worth, Casserly agreed with the teams, naming Fournette as his top running back prospect in the upcoming draft. To Casserly’s credit, you can’t say the former GM doesn’t strongly believe in his evaluations.
Leading up to the 2006 NFL Draft, Casserly’s Texans held the No. 1 overall pick that draft season. Instead of selecting USC’s Reggie Bush, regarded by many as the best college prospect in years, Casserly drafted defensive end Mario Williams over Bush to the surprise of many. Only one of them went to a Pro Bowl and garnered All-Pro honors during their careers — Williams did each four times.
