According to newly released odds by OddsShark, former LSU running back Leonard Fournette is a heavy favorite to be the first back taken in the upcoming 2017 NFL Draft. The upcoming draft will be the first one to feature individual prop bets, such as the listed below, at Vegas sportsbooks.
The big, physical Fournette has a sizeable lead over a pair of versatile speeders in FSU’s Dalvin Cook (+550) and Stanford’s Christian McCaffery (+750). Oklahoma’s Joe Mixon represents a dark horse at +4000, with tangible NFL talent, but a mess of baggage that has caused a two NFL teams to remove him from their boards.
Which running back will be selected 1st in the NFL draft?
Leonard Fournette -600
Dalvin Cook +550
Christian McCaffrey +750
Joe Mixon +4000— Odds Shark (@OddsShark) April 18, 2017
Fournette drew a bit of criticism when he showed up to the NFL Combine at a stout 240 lbs., but quickly put those concerns to bed by posting a 4.51-second 40-yard dash time.
The latest mock draft from the NFL’s Daniel Jeremiah has Fournette slotted in at pick No. 4 to the Jacksonville Jaguars, but only time will tell what the future holds for the talented LSU back.
