A clause that gives LSU the ability to terminate a contract six months after head coach Les Miles’ employment with the school ends hasn’t been included in newer deals.

According to The Advocate’s Ross Dellenger, new assistant coaches Jabbar Juluke (running backs coach) and Dameyune Craig (receivers coach) do not have the stipulation included in their contracts.

Meanwhile, it was taken out of the restructured deals for defensive line coach Ed Orgeron and offensive line coach Jeff Grimes. One exception is offensive coordinator Cam Cameron, who does have the clause in his new three-year contract.

The clause, which essentially binds the assistants to Miles’ tenure, first got attention when the school sued former LSU defensive coordinator John Chavis for not paying a $400,000 buyout that the Tigers claim he owed after he left for Texas A&M in January of 2015.

Within the suit is a refusal on Chavis’ part to sign a new deal with LSU because it included that very clause.
